[And he saunters over, all infuriating smugness and sharp, bitter rage, and claps a hand to Galiel's shoulder, running it slowly down the angel's back while smirking at Ben.] Too bad. You shoulda kept better fuckin' company than this, Gal. Someone with the spine to at least try and save you.

[Galiel squeezes his eyes shut and mouths the words along with Ben as Shaitan's claws trace slow, bloody furrows down his back between the wings. He's shaking in the grip of the demons on either side of him, bloodied and weak and exhausted, and Shaitan leans in to smirk and whisper in his ear as the claws stop moving, resting in the small of his back with undeniable menace.] Nobody's coming to save you, Galiel. The dog could have, but he won't even try. Because you're not worth the effort it would take. Not enough left here to save.

[The claws slide in, spearing a kidney, and Galiel cries out in strangled, wordless agony.] Just carrion. Worthless. Bloody. Carrion.

[Ben squeezes his eyes shut.] You are a lying liar who lies. He is an angel of the Lord and beloved by Him and the Host. Nothing I do can save him, because you're a sadistic little bastard who likes making people suffer. [He's doing his best to comfort Galiel with the Psalm. Not sure how well it's working.]

This is the reward of the wicked, Galiel. [Shaitan yanks, and the angel convulses.] They win.

Dad fucking lied to you. He lied to all of us. He gave our birthright to the fucking livestock. He told us goodness was its own reward, but look. Look where it gets you.

The Lord's a fucking liar, Gal. He doesn't love you. He loves the pets. He'll let me do things to you I could never do to the dog over there, because He loves a hunk of walking, talking meat more than you or me.
